Today we’re going to take a look at the Mi Pod by Smoking Vapor. We’ll show you everything that comes with, how it performs and give you our thoughts on it.
The Mi Pod’s packaging is pretty cool. The picture of the device with the finish that you’re going to receive is on the top of the box. You can see this one is textured, it feels almost like a leather kind of feeling. Pull it open it’s a nice little box. Here pop it open and you see we do have the Mi Pod and two cartridges. It does come with two cartridges and it says you can refill them about five times before you have to replace them. I’ve found that you can generally refill it quite a few times before you need to toss it finishing off the internals. You aMlso get a warranty card manual down in there as well as a USB charger. With the Mi Pod you can see out the top this is where the cartridge will pop in. These little windows here the little logos you can look there and see how much juice you have left in your cartridge, which is pretty cool. There’s a little knot that is actually your main airflow hole. The Mi Pod is charged by a USB. You plug it directly in.
The Mi Pod is a very small form factor device and there’s no button to push to fire. It is pull activated. When you first pull the cartridge out it will have a rubber piece at the bottom, which needs to get pulled off. These little lips are great because if you’re switching out your different pods and using different ones, you just pop your cartridge back into the rubber and it keeps it from leaking, keeps it nice and clean, which is a great little addition. It’s pretty easy for you to swap out your flavors. At the center of the cartridges you have airflow hole with white dot that is actually the cotton and the coil is right between those two pieces of cotton.
Filling your cartridge/pod is super simple. You just need to pull on this little plastic white piece and hop it out, then you’ll see the filling hole. Filling the Mi Pod cartridge will even take less bottle droppers barely so as long as your dropper is pretty standard and not extra wide or thick at the bottom, you should be able to fill this with no problem. To refill the pod, you just stick your bottle inside of hole and flip it upside down and squeeze it in, then you can see the juice comes down into where the coil is. Then as you fire the coil heats up and the vapor comes up right through the hole and then as you’re pulling clean air also comes up through the center. Once the pod is filled you replace that little plastic seal, I would just wait and let it sit a maybe a minute or two just to get that cotton nice and saturated and then you’re good to go. If you line up those two prongs in a wrong way it won’t click. You just pop it in nice click and you’re good to go. Depending on how hard and how often you’re hitting this you should get maybe two days out of a pod.
I’m a big fan of the Mi Pod. I think it’s exceptionally well designed. The form factors are great. You pop it right in your pocket it takes a very little real estate, great juice capacity, decent battery life and the performance is outstanding. Comparing the Mi Pod with the Juul, the Fix and the My Jet, the Mi Pod is going to hit much harder than those. Mi Pod is more similar with a breeze or D19, something that’s much more intense. You can also run a six or nine milligram standard cell bomb juice on this if you’d like because the hit is very nice. You can direct long with this if you want, to my personal preference is hitting it mouth too long. The Mi Pod really produces a lot of vapor. One of my only complaints with the Mi Pod is that the plastic ones can feel kind of cheap. The metal ones feel nice and heavy and solid. The plastic Mi Pod is pretty much just like a sticker, feeling much lighter and cheaper, but the metal ones feel really well built and heavy. Even though the plastic Mi Pod feels cheap, they really hold up under pressure, they are tough little devices. I’ve dropped these many times already and it’s still functioning great for me. If you get a metal one you’re going to scuff it up and there will be a fingerprint magnet. This is just something to note that even with this one feeling cheap being a little less sturdy because it doesn’t have the metal wrap on the outside it’s just as tough as the metal ones.
The Mi Pod has really taken a beating so far between the juice capacity, the battery life and the performance. The form factor is great that it fits really well in my pocket. It can easily become your favorite Pod system. You can use it with a 20 or 50 milligram pod juice and do a mouth to long kind of vape with it, or you can use 6mg 9mg 12mg and hit it direct too long, either way is extremely satisfying and that’s really going to be a preference thing for you. Because of its versatility, the Mi Pod is a really great fit for a lot of different vapers. It comes in a ton of different colors and finishes so you can really find one that fits your style. The fact that it comes with those little rubber cases for the different pods means that you can fill up a bunch of different ones with different flavors and swap them out when you want to. So all in all, the Mi Pod is a really good choice for those who are looking to switch to vaping from smoking.
